Last night, as I was watching the news, the newscaster said something that made me sit up straight on the sofa. He reported that Lt. Colonel Ken Bourland, a Birmingham native, was missing in Haiti.

On the day of the earthquake, he'd flown to Haiti with a group of pilots to take part in a training exercise. After checking into his hotel room, he sent his wife an e-mail. Moments later, the earthquake shook the motel he was staying in. His wife frantically sent an e-mail asking him, 'Are you okay?'. As of the date of this writing, there has been no update on his status.

Lt Col. Bourland's situation is personal for me. He and I went to church and school together. Although I haven't seen him in nearly twenty years, my prayers and thoughts are with he and his family.

Please join me in praying for Lt. Colonel Bourland and his family. Pray that God will reunite him with his loved ones soon. Thank you so much for reading. Have a great week.
